I am a National Certified and Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master’s Degree in Counseling from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. I have over 15 years’ experience providing counseling to children and adolescents. Primarily, my experience is within the school setting. I have provided outpatient therapy within therapeutic classrooms, school based therapy, and partial hospitalization. In addition, I have worked within the foster care system and providing brief treatment therapy in the home. My clinical focus includes treating symptoms of anxiety, depression, grief and loss, and behavioral disorders such as ADHD and ODD. I understand how symptoms manifest across environments and appreciate a collaborative effort which may include the family, parent, and/or school. This integration is best when serving a younger client, however, I also appreciate the value of confidentiality and respecting the older child’s wishes to internalize their journey on their own
I adapt and tailor my treatment to the client but most often utilize principals from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy while incorporating elements of art and play. I adopt a person centered and trauma informed framework. I will assist in understanding the best approach and wishes of the individual and will work alongside them as they move towards change. I take pride in fostering a warm and caring therapeutic relationship that is safe and non-judgmental. I look forward to helping to facilitate change in my client’s lives.
