Michael Lee is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who enjoys working with Asian-Americans and Individuals with Borderline Personality Disorder. His therapeutic approach incorporates CBT, DBT, ERP, and CPT. Michael works with clients to develop a sense of empowerment and confidence in their own capability, building a toolbox to better address the different hurdles and barriers that crop up in life.
With a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and Neuroscience and a Masters in Social Work from University of Pittsburgh, Michael brings prior experience with severe and persistent mental illnesses to his work. Michael also supports clients dealing with relationship difficulties, trauma, communication difficulties, cultural identity and stress, and anger management.
Michael aims to provide a nurturing, validating, and safe space for the therapeutic process.
Outside the therapy room, Michael likes to go thrift shopping, and his office often contains different knick-knacks from successful thrift shop finds. He is a bit of a geek and loves consuming different forms of science fiction and fantasy works (television, books, games, etc.).
Michael has been exposed to a variety of different treatment environments (outpatient, inpatient, PHP, IOP, residential, etc.) and a variety of different disorders.
With specialized training in personality disorders and cultural identity issues, Michael offers unique support for individuals navigating complex emotional and interpersonal challenges.
His background in both psychology and neuroscience provides a comprehensive understanding of the biological and psychological factors that influence mental health.
