Courtney Purslow is a Licensed Professional Counselor who particularly enjoys working with adolescents, especially young athletes, as well as adults. Her therapeutic approach incorporates CBT, ERP, Solution-focused therapy, mindfulness training, and meaning-making approaches. Courtney helps clients gain a deeper understanding of how they operate and interact in the world, creating a space where they feel validated and safe to share their struggles.
With a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education that greatly informs her work with young clients, Courtney is an ADHD certified clinical services provider for clients of all ages. She has training in ERP to manage phobias and OCD. She works under the supervision of Lead Counselor Jenna. Courtney also supports clients dealing with grief, OCD, interpersonal challenges, behavioral issues, and provides specialized support for student athletes.
After undergrad, Courtney worked as a coach at a local university and realized that many student athletes would find their way to her office to talk about much more than rowing. "This began an interest in mentoring and helping others find success in their lives. I hope that my clients will find a safe space with me to grow and learn how to be the best version of themselves."
Outside the therapy room, Courtney enjoys reading, antiquing, and spending time with friends. She recently started a book club and enjoys hosting events for people to gather and mingle.
Courtney's degree in early childhood education helps her deeply understand the connection between therapy and the school environment.
As a former high school and D1 athlete, Courtney understands the stress of managing multiple activities at once.
Her specialized training in ERP and ADHD has allowed her to help numerous adults diagnosed later in life with struggles that have interrupted their ability to function.
