Connie Becker is a person-centered, solution-focused therapist who utilizes the approach and skills that best meet her clients' needs at this time in their lives. Her therapeutic approach incorporates techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Trauma Informed Care, Gottman style Couples/Marriage Counseling, Exposure Response Prevention Therapy (ERP), and Motivational Interviewing Therapy. Connie believes that the challenges and changes that individuals or couples face are ones that can be overcome, and having a supportive place to explore these challenges or changes can make a positive difference in their lives.
With both a Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh, Connie has worked with adults having difficulty managing thoughts and emotions in a variety of settings including community mental health outpatient, group homes, and inpatient. She has expertise in assisting individuals with symptoms of depression and anxiety as well as a variety of other symptoms.
Connie looks forward to providing a supportive environment to assist clients with the challenges and changes they may be facing at this time. In counseling, she works with clients on developing coping skills, relaxation skills, healthy communication styles, and establishment of positive boundaries.
Connie brings an abundance of clinical experience across multiple treatment settings, providing her with a comprehensive understanding of mental health challenges.
Her training in Gottman method couples counseling offers evidence-based approaches to improving communication and strengthening relationships.
With expertise in both anxiety management and trauma-informed care, Connie provides a safe therapeutic environment for addressing complex emotional concerns.
