Andrew Hart is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Clinical Supervisor who has assisted clients of all ages (although he now only works with clients age 14+) and from a wide range of backgrounds. He has worked most extensively—and particularly enjoys working with—teenagers and young adults. His therapeutic approach incorporates CBT, solution-focused therapy, client-centered therapy, reality therapy, and mindfulness training. Andrew strives to provide a safe, nonjudgmental space in which clients can freely share their thoughts, feelings, and experiences—and to help them learn new skills for healthy, fulfilling growth and adaptation.
With a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Andrew brings over 12 years of clinical experience to his work. In addition to ongoing continuing education courses, he has completed specialized trainings in Exposure and Response Prevention for OCD. He also supports clients dealing with depression, phobias, social anxiety, mania/hypomania, aggression, interpersonal difficulties, suicidal/homicidal ideation, non-suicidal self-injury, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and psychosis.
Andrew's hope is that his clients will feel empowered through the therapeutic process to make changes—even when those changes feel risky or intimidating—so that they can live happy, healthy, and fulfilling lives. "One of my favorite quotes is, 'One does not discover new lands without consenting to lose sight of the shore for a very long time.' (André Gide)."
Outside the therapy room, Andrew enjoys being active and spending time in nature—hiking, kayaking, ziplining, running, playing pickleball. He loves playing games of all kinds with friends and family—social deduction games, board games, video games. He was also a contestant on the 2024 Amazon Prime competition show, "Beast Games."
Andrew builds strong, genuine relationships with his clients as they work toward treatment goals.
He uses humor and creativity to help clients stay engaged and feel empowered to move forward with their goals.
