Adrian Miller is a Licensed Professional Counselor who enjoys working with clients who are motivated to become the best version of themselves. She helps clients tap into their own intuition and get to know themselves to guide their own healing. Her therapeutic approach incorporates Polyvagal-informed EMDR, somatic practices, internal family systems (parts work), DBT, CBT, and motivational interviewing. Adrian hopes her clients can learn to understand themselves and the messages that their body is giving them, first accepting, then embracing all parts of themselves, and integrating all the information needed to make the best choices for themselves.
Adrian received her bachelor's in psychology from Penn State and her master's in counseling psychology from Chatham University and is EMDR certified. She has been working in the field for 13 years in various positions and supports clients dealing with depression, bipolar disorder, substance abuse, addictions, grief and loss, self-esteem issues, relationship issues, self-harm, and suicidal ideation.
Adrian is grateful to have found a career that she loves so much and that fits her personality and beliefs so well.
Outside the therapy room, Adrian likes knitting hats in the winter. She enjoys being in nature and the sun and taking walks. She has also been more interested in nutrition and how it affects mental health.
Uses "bottom up" talk therapy because it starts with understanding the messages that your body gives you.
She helps clients learn to trust their own judgments and perceptions and realize that whatever they experience, there is a reason.
She helps clients learn it is safe to feel what they need to and to have the self-compassion needed to love their lives, using an integrative approach that addresses both mind and body.
