“Art can permeate the very deepest part of us, where no words exist.”
– Eileen Miller
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Art Therapist with experience working with children, teens, adults, and families. I have treated individuals in a variety of settings including inpatient psychiatric hospitals, partial hospitalization programs (PHP), intensive outpatient programs (IOP), residential treatment facilities, therapeutic nurseries for children, and outpatient settings using art therapy and traditional talk therapy.
My passion is working with children and teens, helping them find their voice through creativity. The art therapy process presents the opportunity to grow socially, emotionally, cognitively, and developmentally. It is often difficult for children to find the language to express themselves and to tell their story. I provide clients with the creative tools and the safe, non-judgmental space that they need to communicate and make sense of their internal experience, while taking active steps towards healing. In a supportive atmosphere, I use creative interventions to guide clients toward self-awareness, strengthen communication skills, and develop healthy and effective coping strategies to foster growth and change.
I am a native of Philadelphia but have chosen to re-establish my roots in Pittsburgh. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Fine Art from Towson University, and received my Master’s Degree in Art Therapy from Drexel University.
Let’s talk about how I can support your child or teen with safe self-expression and developing the tools they will use to thrive!
