I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, Board Certified Registered Art Therapist, and have an Autism Certification from Seton Hill University. I started my mental health career as a Therapeutic Support Staff (TSS) for Behavioral Health Rehabilitation Services (BHRS) while in graduate school. I worked closely with children diagnosed with a spectrum of neurodevelopment disorders such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Oppositional Defiance Disorder (ODD), Anxiety Disorders and Mood Disorders. Since then I have worked as a Behavioral Specialist Consultant (BSC), a Mobile Therapist (MT) and have primarily worked as a therapist for children, adolescents, young adults and families in an outpatient setting. My experience includes all diagnoses listed above along with childhood trauma, family dynamic changes including divorce, adoption and foster system placement, childhood depression, transitional issues, separation anxiety, self-esteem issues, and social skill deficits.
My main treatment modalities include Art Therapy, Play Therapy, Expressive Arts Techniques, Client-Centered Therapy and traditional talk therapy techniques. I have experience with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Behavioral Therapy along with Yoga and Mindfulness interventions. I am also a Certified Yoga Teacher and strongly believe that people of all ages can benefit from learning to breathe and move with intention. For my Masters Culminating Project, I developed a Yoga and Art Therapy program for children with mental health diagnoses, and since then, I have run over 30 of these groups. I have also facilitated numerous social skills groups for children ages 3-12 years. My goal as a therapist is to build relationships, develop a safe environment and maintain space for my clients to build creativity, confidence, hope and acceptance to reflect, adapt and grow within their world.
